The World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) is the premier event for the accountancy profession. Since 1904 it has been a forum for thought leadership and a global exchange of views. It is an important point of connection for our professional from across the world together with our many stakeholders.
Excitement is building for the 21st WCOA in Mumbai, the first to be held in South Asia. All participants look forward to engaging with the profession’s global agenda and to learning from ICAI’s experience, since its foundation in 1949, in building the Indian accountancy profession and as a partner contributing to the development of the the Indian economy and society.
ICAI has provided 73 years of remarkable service to the profession and the public interest. In 2020 no organization was quicker to digitalize its offerings than ICAI, and at that moment of great uncertainty ICAI made its wealth of resources freely available online for accountants everywhere. This is the spirit and embodiment of service to the public interest, and a great credit to India as an important leader in the accountancy profession.
The global agenda for the profession is full of promising opportunities and weighty challenges. The time is now for collaboration – with speed – to respond to these developments and to anticipate issues on the horizon.
There is no better time than now, and no better place than India, to have these conversations.
In the year India celebrates its 75th anniversary, and as it takes over the Presidency of the G20, we look forward to welcoming you to Mumbai in November.
भारत में आपका स्वागत है
